Senior Finance Analyst (Trade & MAP)
Position Summary
The Senior Finance Analyst, MAP & Trade Financials will provide financial analysis, governance support, reporting, and process ownership for MAP-related activities and trade financial management. This role will support the Director of Finance with MAP program governance, balance reconciliations, carryforward activities, and monthly accruals for the total MAP budget.
This position will also support trade financial processes, including the trade latest estimate process, monthly trade reviews, and reporting related to slotting, prior-period adjustments, and trade forecast bias. The role will be a partner with Finance, Sales, Accounting, Revenue Management, and other cross-functional teams to deliver insights that support accurate forecasting, strong financial controls, and informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
MAP Governance & Budget Support
- Support governance of MAP-related activities, including PRG and program development.
- Own MAP balance reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items.
- Manage the MAP carryforward process, including tracking, reporting, and stakeholder follow-up.
- Support monthly accrual activities for the total MAP budget.
- Monitor MAP balances, activity, and risks to ensure alignment with financial expectations.
- Identify opportunities to improve MAP processes, reporting, and controls.
Trade Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Support the trade latest estimate process through financial analysis, data preparation, and reporting.
- Coordinate monthly trade reviews with Finance and cross-functional partners.
- Prepare reporting and insights related to slotting, prior-period adjustments, trade forecast bias, and trade performance.
- Analyze trade trends, variances, risks, and opportunities to support forecast accuracy.
- Communicate financial insights and recommendations clearly to business partners.
Business Partnership & Process Improvement
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reporting for leadership and business partners.
- Analyze large data sets to identify trends, explain variances, and support decision-making.
- Collaborate with Finance, Sales, Accounting, Revenue Management, and other teams to resolve issues and improve visibility.
- Support process improvement efforts that streamline workflows and improve reporting efficiency.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
- MBA preferred.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or a related analytical role.
- Previous Consumer Packaged Goods experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with financial analysis, reconciliations, accruals, forecasting, budget management, or trade finance preferred.
- Demonstrated success in roles requiring strong analytical, systems, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to streamline internal processes and manage competing priorities.
