Join Goodwin’s Global Operations Team, and make a real impact on a global scale. At Goodwin, we work with some of the world’s most successful and innovative investors, entrepreneurs and disruptors in the life sciences, private equity, real estate, technology and financial industries, and where they converge. As part of the Global Operations Team – all business professionals at the firm – you’ll collaborate with colleagues from varied backgrounds and experiences, fostering an environment where cross-functional learning, networking, and collaboration are at the core of what we do.
Here, we’re not just supporting a law firm; we’re partnering with attorneys and clients to deliver cutting-edge solutions in high-stakes litigation and dispute resolution, world-class regulatory compliance and advisory services, and complex transactions. Our commitment to integrity, ingenuity, agility, and ambition drives us, and we’re proud to have been recognised as the “Best Business Team” by The American Lawyer.
This is your opportunity to grow professionally in a dynamic, global environment, surrounded by forward-thinking peers.
As Senior Analyst, Client & Market Intelligence, you will help build a leading-edge client and competitive intelligence capability that goes beyond reporting to predictive and prescriptive analytics. You will transform data from multiple sources into curated insights, growth strategies and actionable recommendations that anticipate disruption and capitalize on emerging opportunities in legal services. Through strategic partnership with Client Development leadership, Strategy & Transformation, Digital & Technology, and Marketing, you will influence how Goodwin uses client, marketing, and competitive intelligence to deepen client relationships, expand the client base, and drive cross-practice growth.
In this role, you will help shape how Goodwin realizes client growth potential in a data-driven, strategic way. You’ll be instrumental in making sure the firm not only knows its clients and markets intimately, but acts on that knowledge — driving the types of client development, cross-practice synergies and growth that keep Goodwin at the forefront of innovation and client service.
What You Will Do:
- Deliver high quality, proactive, actionable research and intelligence to Client Development team and attorneys.
- Develop and implement consistent analytics methodologies and reporting templates across industries, sectors, and legal practice areas to enable scalability and self-service, while accounting for relevant nuances of these areas. Deliver high-quality analyses that identify client opportunities, relationship risks, and growth potential across practices, industries, and geographies.
- Partner with client teams and firm leadership to integrate insights into client plans and strategic reviews.
- Provide strategic insight into Practice & Industry Leadership, identifying white-space opportunities, emerging markets/trends, and recommend firm-level resource or tactical pivots.
- Present executive-level insights: distill complex analytics into clear, actionable recommendations for senior firm leadership, client teams and Partner groups.
- Provide input into the development and maintenance of a best-in-class intelligence tech stack combining internal systems (CRM, financials, experience databases) with external data sources and AI-driven platforms. Assess new legal tech and market intelligence tools for automation, real-time alerts, and advanced analytics capabilities.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Business, Analytics, Data Science or related field preferred. Additional certifications in competitive intelligence, data analytics, and AI are a plus.
- 6+ years of progressive experience in research, customer and market intelligence, strategy analytics or client development within professional services, with understanding of legal services preferred.
- Strong project scoping and project management skills to ensure optimal and timely delivery across multiple teams and functions.
- Deep understanding of client segmentation, market research methodologies, and intelligence technologies.
- Exceptional ability to scope and prioritize a high volume of requests to maximize impact and drive standardization
- Application of AI to improve intelligence efficiency and uncover emerging intelligence and analytic methods.
- Demonstrated advanced proficiency in analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, SQL) and experience with CRM/financial systems integration.
- Strong ability to translate quantitative and qualitative data into strategic narratives and actionable recommendations for growth.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with comfort engaging senior leadership and influencing cross-functional stakeholders, including attorneys, on analytics-driven growth strategies.
- Proven collaborator: works effectively across teams, practices, industries and geographies.
- A commercial mindset: you understand business drivers, client behavior, market dynamics and can apply that to growth strategy.
- Familiarity with one or more of Goodwin’s key sectors (Technology, Life Sciences, Private Equity, Real Estate, Financial Services) is a strong plus.
- Awareness of legal tech trends, competitive disruptors (ALSPs, Big Four), and emerging regulatory landscapes is a plus.
