The Sr. Analyst, Software Configuration is responsible for the configuration, implementation, maintenance and support of software solutions to help transform our Auto Finance business, including but not limited to Alfa. This position is involved in the complete software configuration life cycle and is responsible for ensuring that software meets CarMax® quality standards. This position is a key contributor in the software configuration life-cycle, performing analysis and design, application and influencing the configuration team and mentoring other analysts to achieve project goals.
What you will do
Responsible for designing, supporting and ensuring the software meets the ongoing needs of the business.
Leveraging a high level of functional expertise, this role will have responsibility for complex projects and responsibility for mentoring and coaching others on configuration best practices and design patterns.
Engages and leads the team through support issues quickly and efficiently.
Provides system support during work hours and on call to troubleshoot system issues and effectively assess support problems and respond with the appropriate level of urgency.
Mentors others on the business processes implemented in the team’s applications in order to provide resolution to support issues.
Builds and executes unit testing and validation procedures for software or projects he/she is responsible for and ensures the configuration of self and others is compliant with company security standards.
Purpose of the role
This position is one of hands-on configuration expertise and oversight, technical or task management, of other more junior Analysts. This position functions as a mentor/ technical leader on the team to mentor others through large projects and can serve as an expert in supporting an area of the business. Associates in this position must be experienced in advanced configuration, design.
Qualifications and Requirements
A 4 Year degree in an IT related course of study.
Experience (4-5 years) in designing end to end systems and in design and deployment of complex configuration.
Demonstrated project management capabilities and experience in leading medium to large sized project teams.
Advance knowledge of team software configuration and can effectively communicate and teach those concepts to more junior analysts.
Strong knowledge of the following is required:
SQL scripting and Database schemas
ALFA configuration and concepts (or other Configuration like systems)
Company Software Configuration
Reusable Code and Libraries
Authentication/Authorization and Unit Testing
Automated performance testing
Continuous integration
Work Location And Arrangement: This role will be based out of Atlanta, GA CarMax Auto Finance Office and have a Hybrid work arrangement
Work Authorization: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Sponsorship will not be considered for this specific role.
