What you will be doing:
You’ll be a critical expert and partner in administering and supporting all aspects of our U.S. benefit programs. This includes hands-on responsibility for compliance activities, process improvements, open enrollment, and serving as a consultative resource for associates and stakeholders. You’ll be empowered to leverage your analytical skills, stay ahead of regulatory changes, and drive innovative solutions that enhance Staples' benefits offerings.

What’s needed: Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in U.S. benefits administration, including health & welfare, retirement, and compliance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state regulations impacting benefits, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and FMLA.
- Proven ability to prepare and review compliance reports (e.g., Form 5500, ACA filings) accurately and timely.
- Proficiency with HRIS, benefits administration systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in benefits administration within a large, multi-state organization.
- Experience working with benefits vendors, brokers, and consultants, including performance monitoring and issue resolution.
- Professional certification such as CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist), PHR/SPHR, or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP.
- Experience supporting open enrollment processes, including system configuration/testing and employee communications.

The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, or other forms of variable compensation.
