Design, develop, and verify complex avionics software within the Verification & Validation CoE. Define test strategies, create and execute tests, support certification (DO-178), coordinate with cross-functional teams, debug hardware/software, and deliver verification artifacts to program leadership. As a Sr Advanced Software Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering advanced software solutions that drive innovation and enhance our product offerings. You will be part of a team that designs, develops and integrates highly complex software functions within Honeywell Aerospace’s Verification & Validation Center of Excellence. You will be an active and integral member of a team to achieve the completion of goals. You will also generate innovative solutions in work situations, trying different and novel ways to deal with problems and opportunities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create scalable, high-quality software that meets the needs of our customers and supports the company's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Requirement Analysis
  • Test Strategy & Design to support Honeywell Aerospace’s products and solutions
  • Test Development, Reviews, Execution & Debug
  • Formal Testing (RFS & SC)
  • Certification Support
  • Support the Test leads and Project Engineers in planning, TRR, Reviews and customer meetings.
  • Support on technical coordination and leadership guidance with Tools, Test methodologies, Test Qual activities, etc.
  • Providing verification deliverables, as per DO-178 / SW V&V CoE Process to the Program Lead
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Software and systems engineering, project Engineering, and quality assurance to deliver high-quality software products.
  • Identify and implement software improvements and innovations to enhance product performance, scalability, and security.
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in technical disciplines such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • 8 years of experience in Software/Requirement testing
  • Knowledge of software design principles, algorithms, and data structures
  • Experience and knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python
  • Experience with software development tools, version control systems, and agile methodologies 

WE VALUE 

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in embedded systems, real-time operating systems, or industrial control software
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Hardware and software debug with lab equipment (Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, etc.)
  • Hands on experience in Multicore Processor and good understanding of processor architecture
  • Experience in avionics software/systems/software verification
  • Experience in development of application/driver for protocols like Arinc429, RS232, RS422, MIL-STD-1553
  • Hands on AI usage to improve productivity and cycle time reduction
  • Demonstrate good working knowledge on DO178B/C certification
  • Technical skills with emphasis in the areas of software development and verification processes, certification, and DO-178 design assurance guidelines
  • Understanding of software verification methods and tools currently in use as well as versed in industry standards and direction
  • Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices
  • Diverse and global teaming and collaboration
  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events
