As a Senior Advanced Software Engineer at Honeywell Aerospace, you will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and management of sophisticated systems. You will report directly to our Software Engineering Manager and work from our Clearwater, FL location, with a hybrid work option available after an initial 90-day period.


In this impactful role, you will ensure the reliability and efficiency of our software systems, which are essential to our operations. As a senior technical authority, you will drive innovation, quality, and performance in our software infrastructure, setting industry benchmarks and empowering us for a digitally transformative future.

Responsibilities

•    Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software architecture and applications for test automation stations.
•    Collaborate with software, hardware, systems engineers and other cross-functional stakeholders to define software requirements, specifications, and technical solutions.
•    Develop and implement software solutions that satisfy performance, reliability, security, safety, and scalability objectives.
•    Participate in software requirements reviews, design reviews, and code reviews, providing technical guidance and constructive feedback to team members.
•    Perform software integration, validation, and troubleshooting of automated test equipment and sensor guidance / inertial navigation product line for surface, missile, and aircraft platforms. 
•    Investigate and resolve complex technical issues through systematic analysis and debugging techniques.
•    Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and software engineering best practices to drive innovation and process improvements.
•    Contribute to a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the engineering organization.




Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE:

•    Bachelor's degree in technical discipline such as Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited institution.
•    7-8 years of experience in software development.
•    At least 5 years of experience with test automation and automated testing equipment.
•    Strong C++ and/or Object-oriented programming skills
•    Strong software architecture and design development skills.
•    Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.


WE VALUE:

•    Advanced degree in Computer Science or Engineering
•    Experience with software development and verification workflows, including requirements traceability, code reviews, test coverage, problem reporting, and use of requirements management tools.
•    Experience with Software Design and Development of User Interface, function, expertise in Debugging, and Problem-solving skills
•    Experience with software development toolchains including configuration management (SVN, DOORS, ClearQuest), build systems, CI pipelines, and automated test frameworks.
•    Familiarization with protocols (A429, 1394, 1553, RS422, Fiber) and network/communication stack.
•    Experience with C# and Python.
•    Engineering experience, especially in test automation and equipment.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done.
