Job Summary
The Senior Advanced Project Engineer is responsible for leading and executing complex engineering programs while ensuring technical excellence, schedule adherence, cost performance, quality compliance, and customer satisfaction. This role serves as the engineering focal point for assigned projects and provides technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams. The individual drives project execution manages engineering risks, interfaces with customers and stakeholders, and mentors engineering talent while promoting continuous improvement and innovation.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
- Lead the engineering scope of one or more projects/programs from planning through delivery.
- Manage technical, cost, schedule, and quality performance of engineering activities.
- Develop and maintain project plans, resource forecasts, schedules, and execution strategies.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation plans.
- Ensure engineering deliverables meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Drive execution reviews and provide status updates to leadership and customers.
Technical Leadership
- Serve as the technical authority for assigned projects.
- Provide guidance on system, software, verification, and integration activities.
- Lead technical reviews, design evaluations, and root-cause investigations.
- Support technology roadmaps and engineering process improvements.

Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary engineering interface for customers and cross-functional teams.

- Support customer audits, reviews, and compliance activities.
Risk, Quality & Compliance
- Identify technical and programmatic risks and lead corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, processes, and certification requirements.
- Participate in internal and external audits and surveillance reviews.
- Drive continuous improvement of engineering methodologies, tools, and practices.
Team Development
- Mentor and coach engineers, associates, and technical specialists.

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Aerospace, Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline).
Experience
- 10+ years of engineering experience with demonstrated project leadership responsibility.
- Proven experience managing complex technical programs.
- Experience interacting with customers and senior leadership.
- Aerospace, embedded systems, software development, verification, or systems engineering experience preferred.
