Lead detailed mechanical design for aerospace actuation products: create and validate 3D models and 2D drawings, manage drawings in Teamcenter, run design reviews, document for regulatory/customer use, support manufacturing supply chain, mentor junior engineers, and drive process improvements using GD&T and Six Sigma principles.

  As a Senior Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will lead the design of complex components, create 3D CAD models, and create 2D drawings. You will create and track drawing changes in Teamcenter, prepare and deliver design reviews. You will document work for internal records and for regulatory & customer consumption. You will interact closely with project managers and analytical teams to meeting project deliverables and milestones.  In addition, you will mentor less experience engineers and help define and improve processes , helping the team to improve Speed and Efficiency.

The Control Systems (CS) division of Honeywell Aerospace is responsible for a wide variety of product lines including Actuation Systems, Pneumatic Controls, and Start Systems. This position would be a part of the Tempe Design team who supports these various product lines using state of the art software tools. 

You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Tempe, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.

  It is important to understand and adhere to Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing practices, act with speed and accuracy for on-time execution and apply six sigma thought processes and tools. You will listen to internal customer’s needs and support the organization in reducing cycle time and improving quality of deliverables. 

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • 6+ years of mechanical design engineering experience
  • 6+ years experience creating, revising, and validating 3D models and 2D drawings
  • 6+ years experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • 6 + years experience with Teamcenter and NX CAD
