Job Title: Sr. Actuarial Analyst
Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Sr. Actuarial Analyst will work under the guidance of the Senior Actuarial Manager, Vendor Management to perform actuarial functions in support of sub-cap arrangements. Actuarial functions will include trend analysis, forecasting financials and actuarial model support. These functions will be used in and influence month-end close, budget, and forecast processes. The Sr Actuarial Analyst will be responsible for performing these calculations and presenting results. The Sr. Actuarial Analyst will also help to prepare audit documentation and field analytical requests from the Chief Actuary and other executive leadership.
Essential Job Functions:
- Evaluate program level trends and analyze drivers
- Inform assumptions for budget/quarterly forecasts
- Evaluate data and forecast financials to guide company strategy and financial planning
- Prepare analyses to support contract discussions
- Support the building and maintenance of forecasting models used for sub-cap arrangements
- Review the integrity of health plan data (MMR, Claims, MAO-004)
- Support data and savings results reconciliation
- Prepare internal/external audit documentation
- Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
Minimum Experience
- 2+ years of relevant actuarial experience within a healthcare and/or managed care organization
- Experience with Medicare Advantage products preferred
Education/Licensure
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Economics or related field
- 5+ actuarial exams passed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to manipulate and interpret large data sets (particularly health care claims and membership data)
- Experience in actuarial field including the knowledge of best techniques for analyzing healthcare issues and forecasting solutions
- Familiar with rate setting, forecasting or projecting
- Health insurance product knowledge with a particular focus on Medicare Advantage
- Proficient in Excel and SQL
- Strong communication, both written and verbal
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where internal/external client satisfaction is key
- Entrepreneurial and innovative spirit
Location: Austin, TXPay Range: $100,000.00 - $122,600.00
Salary range shown is a guideline. Individual compensation packages can vary based on factors unique to each candidate, such as skill set, experience, and qualifications.
