Job Description

JOB SCOPE:

Weatherford is seeking applicants for the position of Sr Accounting Systems Solutions Architect to join the Corporate Accounting Systems team in Houston, Texas.

This highly visible, hands-on role is primarily responsible for the administration and support of Hyperion Essbase in addition to being a thought leader in how existing/future solutions can be leveraged to address current and anticipated financial and operational reporting needs. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide primary application support, maintenance, and administration of Essbase as well as the SQL Server databases and batch scripts managed by the Accounting Systems Team
  • Day-to-day activities: Perform recurring tasks to update/prepare the EPM solutions for close; troubleshoot/resolve application issues; liaise with IT to address system performance/uptime problems; respond to assigned helpdesk end user tickets
  • Hierarchy change cycle activities: Perform impact analysis of submitted hierarchy/design change requests and follow-up with requestors to refine requirements; design, develop and test required updates
  • Proactively identify and execute improvements to existing solutions so that they may perform more optimally and be more manageable
• Work collaboratively with various departments to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of existing business processes and reporting and recommend viable and robust solutions
• Participate in cross functional meetings and identify potential impacts/risks/dependencies financial and technological changes/projects may have on EPM systems, procedures, and processes
• Partner with corporate teams to build new capabilities around planning, close and reporting

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in one of the following (Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering)
• 10+ years of applicable work experience (minimum of 8 years working with Hyperion/EPM solutions)

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

• • Proficient in the below:
    • Essbase (ASO & BSO) v11.1.2.3
    • Smart View
    • Relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle)
    • Scripting languages (VB, DOS)
    • Advanced Excel (macros, VBA, functions)
  • Solid basic knowledge of all Oracle/Hyperion EPM solutions and how they relate and integrate with one another
  • Experience as a project manager and project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, PMBOK, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of basic finance and accounting concepts and experience supporting financial close and budgeting/forecast cycles
  • Able to manage/prioritize own tasks and to work efficiently to meet deadlines while still producing accurate and quality deliverables
  • High level of flexibility and adaptability to changing timelines and requirements
  • Ability to quickly comprehend processes and willingness to learn systems and tools
  • Can tailor communication (e.g. content, style and medium) to individuals or groups taking into account the audience and the nature of the information
  • Ability to integrate related and seemingly unrelated information to develop creative solutions
  • Passionate about continually developing/expanding skills (functional, technical, soft) and sharing expertise and knowledge with others
  • Fosters a positive, collaborative, and supportive work environment
