Job Description
Wonderful Orchards is seeking a Sr. Accounting Manager - Reporting to support our Shafter, CA corporate operations. This position is responsible for all aspects of financial reporting. This position will report to the Sr. Accounting Manager and is responsible for timely and accurate financial accounting and reporting. The position requires the ability to work independently and multi-task while meeting deadlines.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Direct the accounting activities and ensure the accuracy of the general ledger.
- Manage the monthly closing process and ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with variance analysis for various internal and external reporting requirements.
- Manage financial consolidations, including maintenance of the consolidation program.
- Assist with coordinating the external annual audit including the preparation of various audit schedules and financial statements consisting of balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flow. Respond to audit questions.
- Review and maintain Lease Accelerator and lease accounting reconciliations.
- Update and maintain revenue recognition processes and procedures.
- Review monthly account reconciliations as needed.
- Respond to various requests placed on the Company by the corporate office.
- Work closely with sister companies to ensure monthly and quarterly balance confirmations are aligned.
- Participate in process improvement projects.
- Work with accounting team to develop and implement best practices related to accounting process and controls.
- Responsible for ad-hoc requests related to the accounting team.
- Mentor and develop staff and strengthen the GL accounting team at Wonderful Orchards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications include, but are not limited to the following:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university majoring in Accounting or Business with an Accounting Emphasis.
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area or equivalent combination education and experience.
- CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of financial reporting processes.
- Extremely detailed-oriented.
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal.
- Proven interpersonal skills essential.
- A team player, flexible, consistent and reliable, able to work with minimal supervision.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP systems and consolidation software, experience with Oracle EBS a plus.
- Knowledge of database reporting tools such as Tableau, Venna, Power BI preferred.
- Experience in handling multiple entities with complex intercompany transactions, eliminations, and consolidations.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Commitment to delivering quality service that meets or exceeds expectations.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and willingness to preserve confidentiality.
- Pay Range: $125,000 - $145,000, and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
