Position Summary:

The Sr Accounting Analyst will play an integral role on the general accounting team, working through complex issues, transactions, and projects independently, as well as collaboratively with other finance and cross-functional team members. The successful candidate will be able to work and communicate effectively in a team environment, interacting with all levels of our organization, international team members, and external auditors.

*This person must reside in Sao Paulo and commute 2-3 days/week to our corporate LATAM HQ.

Responsibilities:

  • Support to the Associate Director, Accounting in the protection of our company’s assets; includes performing month-end account analysis, reconciliations, journal entry posting, and quarterly presentations.

  • Record payroll accruals including 401K, PTO, relocation and payroll related intercompany cross charges as part of the monthly close process; Prepare and maintain journal entry support and account reconciliations, partnering with corporate payroll team.

  • Process the travel and temp labor accounting clearing, recorded and reconciling accounts, partnering with accounts payable to resolve any clearing issues.

  • Reconcile cash to payroll reports and the general ledger.

  • Responsible for maintaining Sarbanes-Oxley internal control narratives and testing documentation for areas of responsibilities

  • Participate in quarterly reviews and annual audit.

  • Drive process improvement initiatives by applying strong analytical, communication, collaboration and problem solving skills.

Requirements:

  • Experience with SAP (or equivalent ERP system) is preferred.

  • CPA certificate and relevant industry accounting experience is a plus, but not required

  • Minimum of four years of experience, background in public accounting is preferred and corporate accounting experience is a plus

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, bilingual proficiency in English

  • Ability to effectively work within a team to expedite completion of critical projects with other functional groups

  • Must bring a process improvement mindset.

  • Demonstrates a commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals and tight deadlines; superior attention to detail is a must.

  • Must have the ability to prioritize workload and perform multiple tasks under accelerated deadlines.

  • Must be flexible in terms of adjusting schedule to various demands driven by our dynamic business environment.

  • Self-directed and able to work well and communicate effectively in a team environment.

  • Knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting regulations

  • Knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university; MBA and/or CPA a plus
