You will play a key role in supporting our Media House entity by ensuring accurate maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of journal entries, and completion of account reconciliations. This role also oversees daily cash management functions and payroll processes. Working closely with the Finance Manager and the broader finance team at RB Media House, the Senior Accountant will collaborate with external auditors and various business units to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
Job DescriptionCASH MANAGEMENT
Maintain and send daily cash position report
Review and clear any items in Wells Fargo fraud filter
Monitor weekly liquidity and request funding from Parent Company when necessary
Post all incoming/outgoing wires & ACHs on a weekly basis
ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE AND REVENUE RECOGNITION
Prepare and send invoices for sponsorship and content licensing agreements
Maintain AR ledger and coordinate with Media House team to resolve any past dues
Post monthly reclasses to recognize earned revenue
Track unearned revenue log to ensure accuracy and timely recognition of revenue
PAYROLL
Reconcile biweekly payroll
Research and resolve any variances between payroll reports and bank details
MONTH END CLOSE PROCESS
Reconcile all RB Media House bank accounts
Post accruals and reclassifications as requested by RB Media House Finance
Reconcile and prepare Balance Sheet lead schedules
Confirm validity of and create new Fixed Assets as invoiced
Run Fixed Asset depreciation and update balance rollforward reports for Tax team
Prepare content distribution revenue report and post invoice for HQ share
Prepare Cost Plus invoice
Load RB Media House data into Hyperion Financial Management for consolidation.
BUSINESS UNIT RESPONSIBILITIES
Reconcile American Express CMC and BTA for the business units
Review and process distributor billbacks
Maintain customer payments/questions as needed
ADUIT SUPPORT
Facilitate interim and year-end audit requests timely
Prepare and submit PBC items preceding audit fieldwork
Prepare and submit requested sample support as requested by auditors
AD-HOC RESPONSIBILITES
Assist with developing new processes to increase efficiency for the growing business.
Conduct special accounting projects as assigned by management
Provide Tax team with any reports needed for planning or external audits
Qualifications5+ years of accounting experience; public accounting experience/CPA a plus
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited college or university
Solid understanding of GAAP
Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables and V-Lookups)
SAP knowledge preferred, but not required
Proven track record in effectively communicating with all levels of an organization
Ability to take initiative with strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
Team player in a multi-cultural environment with strong interpersonal skills
Strong work ethic and willing to work extra hours and weekends during quarter-end and year-end closes to meet deadlines
Additional InformationThis position is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or individuals who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a valid visa.
The base salary range for this position is $67,200 to $100,800 + cash incentives. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
