The senior accountant is responsible for centralized accounting functions within Smart Care’s $300M Climate division head office, directly supporting the divisional controller. This process-oriented individual will work through standardizing and centralizing month-end activities and managing the accounting for transactions within the division’s head office cost center (Zone Climate Contracting). We are seeking an organized leader who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment for a growing company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directly support divisional Controller
- Month-end close procedures (journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, etc.)
- Presentation of monthly financial results to the Controller with explanations around key drivers and period-over-period fluctuations.
- Support annual financial statement audit requests
- Journal entry and reconciliation review
- Intercompany bookings and reconciliation
- Percentage of Completion accounting for the entire division (monthly calculations and review)
- Payroll Processing
- Cash and accounts payable management, including payment processing to vendors
- Recording of vendor invoices
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a finance, accounting, business or a related field
- Understanding of Percentage of Completion accounting preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and both detail and process oriented
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong critical thinking and decision making skills
