Job DescriptionThe Opportunity:
This role is responsible for managing end-to-end financial accounting, reporting, accounts receivable, credit control, and financial planning activities. The incumbent will oversee month-end close, financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and business performance analysis, while partnering with shared services and regional stakeholders. The role also supports audits, SOX compliance, statutory reporting, customer credit management, and process improvement initiatives to ensure strong financial controls and business performance.
What Your Impact Will Be:
Financial Accounting and Reporting
- Prepare and maintain the general ledger as per Mattel’s accounting policy.
- Coordinate with shared service team and complete the month end closing and submission as per corporate reporting deadlines.
- Complete the Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly Financial Reporting Package accurately and timely.
- Anaylsis on business proformance, P&L tracking and commentary on month end close package.
- Complete the internal management reporting package on a timely basis and to discuss with superior on the financial position relative to plan and highlight variance from plan and forecasts.
- Reconcile assets and liabilities accounts on a monthly basis.
- Handle enquires from external and internal audit, SOX, tax and other statutory reporting.
Customer / Supplier Management
- Liaison with customers on their outstanding balance and reconcile their advance payment or defective deduction claims. Include sending statement of account and review for bad debt provision.
- Monitor simulation and delivery of customer benefits.
- Prepare weekly and monthly AR aging reporting.
- Perform credit control analysis and review for customers
- Annual review on customers credit term, credit limit and deal term.
Financial Planning
- To work with FP&A team in preparation of financial plan and forecast on SG&A and balance sheet items.
- To prepare periodic cash flow forecast in accordance to Corporate Treasury guidance.
- Analysis and comment on cashflow forecast by weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
- Adhoc project for finance function on process improvement
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor Degree in Finance or Accountancy with professional Accounting qualification (will delete if not mandatory
- 7+ years experience where at least 3 years in audit firm, and in-house experience in MNC environment, preferably in consumer product industry.
- Experience in ERP system e.g Oracle, High Radius highly preferred.
- Well versed with local and US GAAP.
- Attentive to detail.
- Adaptive to dynamic environment and be able to work with people at all levels across countries.
- Good command of English and Chinese.
