Position Description: 

The Senior Accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures throughout the organization's accounting cycle. This includes analyzing financial information, preparing accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures.


Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze financial information to recommend efficient use of resources and procedures, solving business and financial problems.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a robust internal control environment around the general ledger function, supporting financial audits and interacting with auditors.
  • Assist in M&A valuations for PP&E.
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts and facilitate ad hoc reporting requirements.
  • Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Ensure fixed asset projects and leases comply with GAAP.
  • Facilitate timely and accurate ad hoc reporting requirements, including governmental census requirements and miscellaneous information requests from senior management and other departments.
  • Maintain reconciliation of general ledger accounts related to fixed assets, CIP, and leases.
  • Partner with corporate departments to help them understand their monthly financial results and assist in developing future forecasts and plans.
  • Perform month-end closing tasks, including recording acquisitions, disposals, depreciation, and cost adjustments in the fixed asset accounting system.
  • Prepare financial reports and statements, including profit and loss statements, monthly closings, annual reports, and cost accounting reports.
  • Review and assign capitalization of labor calculations to individual projects.
