Job Summary:
Senior accountants are responsible for managing and overseeing various accounting and financial functions, including financial statement preparation, preparing complex journal entries and reconciliations. The Senior Accountant will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing accounting guidance to other areas of the business.

 

Essential Functions:
 

  • The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role, additional duties may be assigned. 
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements 
  • Analyze financial data and provide strategic recommendations to management 
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations  
  • Manage and reconcile high volume and complex general ledger accounts  
  • Prepare and process complicated journal entries
  • Collaborate with external auditors and provide support during audits 
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff  
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other departments on accounting-related matters 
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and regulations and implement changes as necessary 

Required Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Experience with accounting software and systems

 Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

CPA designation

Public accounting experience

Experience in a management role

Experience with statutory accounting and reporting

Experience with PeopleSoft general ledger

Experience with Infor general ledger

Experience with Hyperion Financial Management

Experience with Smartview adhoc grid data retrieval and reporting

Experience with Oracle general ledger

Experience with financial modeling

Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

General Physical Demands:
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.

Must be able to travel to multiple locations for work (i.e. travel to attend meetings, events, conferences). Occasionally

To support your financial wellbeing, we offer competitive pay as well as opportunities for incentive or commission compensation. We also conduct regular annual reviews with pay for performance considerations for base pay increases. 
Annualized Salary Range: $84,500 - $137,300
Typical Annualized Hiring Range: $84,500 - $105,600
Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
