Become part of the Care.com Accounting team as a Senior Accountant on the Financial Reporting and SOX team working closely with all areas of accounting and various departments throughout the business. As part of this team, you will be responsible for the preparation of internal financial statements to our parent company (IAC) and assist with the management of our internal controls program in accordance with SOX requirements. This position will report to the Manager of SOX and Financial Reporting.

What You'll Be Working On: 

  • Assist with maintenance and enhancement of the SOX program including process narratives and the controls matrix via coordination with management for reflection of processes within SOX documentation
  • Execute periodic SOX controls around the financial reporting processes
  • Act as liaison with internal and external auditors on timing, logistics, and requests management for annual audits and quarterly reviews
  • Assist with preparation of internal reporting packages, ensuring accurate and timely submission to the Care Controller and IAC
  • Prepare the monthly cash flow statements
  • Work as a liaison between Care and IAC technical accounting on increasingly complex intercompany activity and review for proper accounting of those transactions by the accounting team
  • Prepare various accruals and journal entries during month end close, including intercompany, leases, intangibles, and others.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • ASC 842 experience a plus
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities to meet tight close deadlines.

Education/Other Pre-Requisites: 

  • BA/BS in accounting required.
  • 3-5 years of work experience, financial reporting and SOX experience within a publicly traded company preferred
  • CPA (or qualifying CPA candidate) required.

Salary Range: $95,000 - $100,000

The base salary range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the national salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Care.com’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and short- and long-term incentives.
