GNC is seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant who will be responsible for the preparation of the Company’s external financial and internal management reports. Responsible for technical accounting research for new accounting guidance and complex accounting issues. Accurate and timely accounting of all activity related to debt, equity, and other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Do:
This is a Full-Time Salary Position
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the preparation and review of all financial filings
- Provide assistance to operational management in the analysis and understanding of all financial information as required
- Research, analyze, and document technical accounting and disclosure items
- Ensure the timely and accurate journalization of all assigned accounts and transactions to the general ledger
- Maintain and update the accounting policies of the Company for new accounting pronouncements and new business endeavors
- Reconcile/review designated general ledger accounts to the summary trial balance on a monthly basis and provide periodic reporting of accounts
- Ensure all inter-company accounts for assigned entities are balanced on a periodic basis
- Prepare all assigned audit request schedules, for review by manager, for the quarterly and year end external audits on a timely basis
- Assist in preparation of financial reporting package on a timely basis
- Participate in all SOX compliance activities – including, but not limited to, documentation, testing, and reporting
- Provide analysis projects for management on various hot topics
- Provide technical training to senior and staff accountants
- Provide support to senior and staff accountants
- Additional duties as assigned
PHYSICAL ASPECTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Hybrid work environment, 2-3 days in-person attendance (Pittsburgh, PA) in addition to ability to work remotely.
- Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands or fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
- 3+ years progressive Public Accounting experience preferred
- CPA preferred
- High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
- Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
Skills Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years progressive Public Accounting experience
- CPA
- High degree of proficiency with MS Office Suite, Outlook and internet applications
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, problem-solving, project management and planning skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including analysis and interpretation
- Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers, colleagues, internal and external clients
