Job Summary:
Strong financial reporting and disciplined accounting practices are essential to every successful organization. As a Senior Accountant, Corporate Accounting at Centrus Energy, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the company’s financial records and ensuring compliance in a dynamic, highly regulated environment. You’ll serve as a trusted accounting professional who helps translate complex transactions into accurate financial results while supporting the processes, controls, and reporting that drive sound business decisions.
What You Will Do:
You’ll take a lead role in the accounting activities that support Centrus’ corporate financial operations. This includes preparing and reviewing journal entries, performing complex account reconciliations, analyzing financial results, and supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. You’ll ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, maintain the integrity of the general ledger, and help strengthen internal controls and SOX compliance efforts. Working closely with finance, operational, and cross-functional teams, you’ll investigate and resolve accounting issues, support external and internal audit activities, and contribute to the preparation of financial reporting schedules and disclosures. You’ll also identify opportunities to enhance processes, improve efficiencies, and support the continued evolution of accounting practices across the organization.
We’d Love To Hear From People With:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements
- Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
A Successful Candidate Brings:
- CPA certification or progress toward certification.
- Experience working in a publicly traded or regulated industry environment.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle Fusion Cloud.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis.
- Ability to identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
Estimated Starting Base Salary Range: $85,000-$105,000. This position is Bonus eligible. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
