Your impact
As Senior Accountant, Billing and Revenue, you will own all billing and collection processes for designated contracts, while also playing a key role in the establishment and evaluation of new or revised contracts. Your responsibilities will encompass the timely issuance of monthly invoices, overseeing collections, managing deobligations, monitoring funding statuses, and facilitating contract closures. Additionally, you will execute thorough contract reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and integrity for the company.
What you will do
- Review the setup and maintenance of current and future contracts in MS Dynamics SL
- Work closely with PM's, contract setup accountant, and management to ensure billing and revenue schedules follow deliveries and customer requirements
- Communicate with manager, biller, contracts, legal, sales, and program management regarding complex billing or program requirements
- Generate and submit invoices & credit memos for customers and contracts as assigned
- Perform collections on assigned contracts
- Responsible for accounts receivable and revenue matters on assigned accounts, including contacting customers regarding unpaid invoices
- Perform contract reconciliations
- Track funding requirements and work with contracts proactively to get funding in time
- Participate in special projects and produce accurate and timely ad-hoc reporting
- Adhere to established SOX controls and GAAP
Your required experience/skills
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university with a major in accounting or finance
- 3+ years of accounting experience with a focus on billing, revenue recognition and GAAP compliance
- Experience with government contracts and their CLIN structure, required.
- Possess leadership ability and the capacity for self-direction
- Accuracy, attention to detail with a strong emphasis on delivering quality results
- Adept at managing multiple tasks concurrently and adhering to deadlines
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and advanced Excel skills required
- This role is subject to ITAR/EAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Individual such as an asylee or refugee).
