About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled SQA Automation Engineer with a strong focus on API Automation to join our Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing, developing, and executing automated test frameworks — particularly for APIs using Rest Assured or equivalent tools — and integrating these with Selenium-based test suites. This role involves building unified automation solutions where API and UI tests work cohesively to deliver reliable, end-to-end test coverage. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent quality, performance, and scalability across products.
What will be your responsibilities?
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for API, web, and mobile applications.
- Build and enhance API automation frameworks using Rest Assured, Postman, or similar tools.
- Integrate API automation suites with Selenium UI test suites to enable seamless end-to-end validation of system workflows.
- Ensure both API and UI layers are tested cohesively for comprehensive functional and regression coverage.
- Conduct functional, integration, and regression testing of RESTful services and backend systems.
- Utilize TestNG for structuring, managing, and executing automated test cases.
- Perform web automation using Selenium (Java) and mobile testing using Appium when required.
- Use GitHub for version control, code collaboration, and framework maintenance.
- Integrate and manage automated test execution within CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and reporting.
- Collaborate closely with developers and other QA engineers to identify, debug, and resolve issues quickly.
- Support test planning, execution, and reporting, ensuring traceability and comprehensive coverage.
- Continuously improve automation processes, enhance framework capabilities, and adopt QA best practices.
What are we looking for, and what does it require to be the right fit for this role?
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in automation testing with a strong emphasis on API automation.
- Proven expertise in Rest Assured for building and executing automated API test suites.
- Strong understanding of integrating API test suites with Selenium-based UI suites for complete end-to-end automation coverage.
- Experience in framework design — including Page Object Model (POM), hybrid, and modular patterns.
- Solid programming knowledge in Java for developing maintainable and modular automation code.
- Experience with Selenium for web automation and Appium for mobile testing.
- Proficiency in TestNG for test organization, data-driven testing, and reporting.
- Hands-on experience with Postman for exploratory and functional API testing.
- Knowledge of JMeter for load and performance testing.
- Experience using GitHub or similar version control systems.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and test integration workflows.
- Understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC/STLC, and Agile/Scrum practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Passion for learning and adopting new testing tools and practices
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with BrowserStack or other cloud testing environments.
- Familiarity with BDD frameworks like Cucumber.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and database validations for backend testing.
