Job Description

We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Sputter Target Management and Quality Engineer to join our team in Penang, Malaysia. In this role, you will be responsible for managing Sputter Target inventory, ensuring quality standards, and optimizing material specifications to support our semiconductor and advanced materials manufacturing operations. You will work collaboratively with production, procurement, and engineering teams to maintain the highest quality standards while driving operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to resolve quality concerns, negotiate specifications, and ensure continuous improvement in material delivery
  • Manage Sputter Target inventory, including procurement planning, stock level optimization, and supplier coordination to ensure consistent material availability
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and testing protocols for Sputter Target materials to meet Sputter Media specifications and process requirements
  • Conduct comprehensive quality inspections and analysis of incoming materials, including dimensional verification, material composition analysis, and surface quality assessment
  • Perform root cause analysis on quality issues and non-conformances, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation of all quality testing, material certifications, and compliance data in accordance with ISO standards and regulatory requirements
  • Analyze quality data and trends using statistical methods to identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction
  • Support production teams by providing technical guidance on material handling, storage, and application best practices for sputter targets

 

Qualifications

Required : 

  • Background in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Physics or related technical field
  • At least 2 years of working experience
  • Result oriented and solution driven thinker
  • Experience in the semiconductor or advanced materials manufacturing industry
  • Familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma
  • Experience in vendor management and supplier quality negotiations

Preferred :

  • Proven experience in quality assurance, quality control, or materials management within manufacturing or semiconductor industries
  • Strong knowledge of Sputter Target materials, specifications, and industry standards
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and data interpretation for quality metrics
  • Solid understanding of ISO quality management systems and compliance requirements
  • Excellent organizational and inventory management skills with experience in supply chain coordination

Skills :

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze technical data and conduct root cause analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document procedures and findings clearly
  • Proficiency in using laboratory testing equipment and quality control instruments
