About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Corporate Banking Analyst to join the Sponsors Portfolio Management team in CIB as part of Banking. This role supports the underwriting, ongoing monitoring, and active management of a portfolio of corporate credit relationships, with a focus on ensuring prudent risk management and disciplined execution.
The Analyst will work in close coordination with the Financial Sponsors Coverage Group, Leveraged Underwriting, Credit Officers, Product Partners (including Capital Markets, Treasury, and Risk), and other internal stakeholders to support credit-related execution and portfolio oversight. This position is well suited for a candidate with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an interest in corporate credit and portfolio management. Experience with Financial Sponsors or Leveraged Finance is a plus.
In this role, you will:
- Support senior staff with financial and credit analysis for assigned portfolio of portfolio companies with Sponsor ownership
- Perform detailed credit, financial statement analysis, industry analysis and projection modeling to ensure accurate and timely and accurate monitoring, accurate risk ratings, covenant compliance, watchlist updates, recognition of potential problems loans of leveraged credit portfolio
- Partner with senior portfolio managers on final credit memos, nCino and loan documentation
- Prepare discussion material for internal presentations with leadership and risk partners
- Support client needs related to credit and related products such as Interest Rate Swaps, FX and Operating Exposure
- Complete ad-hoc borrower and/or portfolio analysis
- Preparation of annual reviews, status updates, watch list updates, etc.
- Assist senior portfolio managers with portfolio reviews and portfolio reporting
- Adherence to credit policies and procedures and incorporate requirements into credit analysis, observations and lending recommendations
- Collaborate and consult with peers, internal partners and stakeholders and senior bankers
- Complete periodic professional development training as scheduled
- 6+ months of Corporate Banking experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- 6+ months of CIB Portfolio Management experience, experience with leveraged lending, experience with Sponsor Portfolio Management
- Basic understanding of investment banking and corporate banking, including Capital Markets, M&A, and loan underwriting
- Strong grasp of credit skills, financial accounting and financial modeling
- Demonstrated excellence in working effectively as an individual and as part of a team
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- High level of initiative and accountability
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
- Ability to act with integrity, good character and exercise sound judgement
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- Willingness to work on-site in accordance with current office requirements
- Ability to work additional hours as needed

- Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
- Registration for FINRA Series 63 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
- Registration for FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$90,000.00 - $150,000.00
