The Splunk Engineer will provide overall systems and architecture management in supporting BBH Splunk environments consisting of search heads, indexers, deployers, deployment servers, heavy/universal forwarders, ITSI and Splunk Enterprise Security.
Job Responsibilities:
- Data Onboarding – Responsible for data onboarding which may include application/add-on installation, custom parsing rules, and CIM compliance.
- Architecture Changes & Deployments – Manage Splunk environment architecture changes, design, as well as deployments such as ground up environment builds of all server roles. Assist clients in cloud migration efforts.
- Updates – Deliver major version updates and/or upgrades of Splunk apps and TAs as well as Splunk versions.
- Maintenance Release Updates – Handle maintenance release updates.
- New Feature Deployment – Work closely with QA/Senior Engineer(s) to deploy new features.
- Sprint / Project Development - Project Managers (PMs) are responsible for management of sprints/projects. Splunk Engineers are responsible for the completion (development) of the work laid out by the PMs. Work is to be completed by the due date assigned. Any complications in the sprint/project which may cause delays should be relayed to the Technical Account Managers as soon as possible so the sprint/project can be adjusted accordingly.

Required Skills:
- Previous experience with Splunk administration
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Splunk Core and related technologies.
- Linux System Administration and Troubleshooting
- Ansible Experience (preferred)
- Certified Splunk Architect (preferred)
- Familiarity with git
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
