Sentara Gastroenterology Specialist in Newport News, VA is looking to hire a Specialty Resource Coordinator
The Specialty Resource Coordinator provides independent and high-level support to Physicians and Advance Care Practitioner to maximize provider efficiency, increase patient satisfaction and maximize patient access. Responsible for coordinating procedures, scheduling and obtaining prior authorizations and pre- op clearances.
Responsible for coordinating cases and consultations autonomously, understanding specialty complexities and provider expertise while navigating the interdependence of various institutions. Quickly adapts and reallocates resources to meet changing needs, ensuring decisions support provider productivity and operational efficiency. Proactively organizes work and tracks outcomes to detect or prevent issues. Executes schedules with precision and utilizes knowledge of medical terminology effectively.
Education:
- High School Diploma
Experience:
- 3 years of clerical experience in a healthcare setting.
- Prior surgery scheduling experience preferred.
- Familiar with prior authorization preferred.
