JOB SUMMARY
This senior pharmacist role seeks a specialty pharmacist with strong program management expertise and experience leading strategic specialty pharmacy initiatives across an interdisciplinary team within a healthcare organization. The successful candidate will lead both clinically focused and non-clinical programs and serve as a clinical consultative resource for specialty programs led by other team members.
This position requires a balance of clinical and business acumen to successfully implement, support, and oversee assigned specialty pharmacy programs. As a subject matter expert in specialty pharmacy program offerings, the incumbent will be responsible for program implementation, market introduction, overall performance, and continuous improvement. This individual will collaborate with internal partners, external stakeholders (including vendors) and leadership to enhance the organization's evolving specialty pharmacy program strategy ensuring value delivery for the Organization’s customers.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the subject matter expert (SME) regarding programs and related workflows. Work effectively within the matrix environment to assemble and facilitate project and ad hoc teams to reach determined objectives. Manage assigned process, people, and technology against operational metrics and other key indicators.
- Act as change agent securing alignment of partners with the overall Specialty Pharmacy strategy and business goals to meet or exceed assigned program deliverables while ensuring effectiveness, efficiency, and maintaining integrity.
- Monitors, evaluates and presents pharmacy data related to programs and makes recommendations for data analysis and reporting to monitor effectiveness and value of programs.
- Assess existing Specialty Pharmacy programs for improvement opportunities and provide new program design ideas. Collaborate across the organization to groom opportunities and progress through appropriate channels when next steps are appropriate.
- Provide input to presentations and training materials to properly reflect programs and related timelines. Present key findings and recommendations and act as a pharmacy expert/adviser for the programs. Develop and maintain relationships with internal Highmark staff and external partners for promotion of Specialty Pharmacy programs and strategy.
- Work collaboratively with Pharmacy Sales, Pharmacy Operations, and other relevant teams regarding program build translation into market demand and operational impacts of partnerships.

EXPERIENCE
Required
- 3 years in Health Care Industry
- 1 year of Program Leadership or Project Management
Preferred
- Completion of an accredited PGY-1 Managed Care Pharmacy Residency Program
- Progressive experience in clinical pharmacy strategy and specialty pharmacy programs development within a health system, health plan, PBM setting and/or specialty pharmacy setting

Pay Range Minimum:
$102,700.00Pay Range Maximum:
$164,600.00Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations. The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
