The Structured Finance Portfolio Manager is responsible for the ongoing oversight, performance management, and risk governance of a portfolio of complex structured finance credit facilities, including asset‑backed lending, specialty finance, securitization-based transactions, and project or infrastructure finance loans. This role ensures the financial health of the portfolio by monitoring collateral performance, borrower compliance, borrowing base trends, covenant adherence, and overall credit quality. The Portfolio Manager partners closely with Relationship Managers, Credit, Capital Markets, and Operations teams to support client needs, assess amendment and waiver requests, and recommend appropriate risk actions. The position also plays a key role in underwriting renewals, preparing credit reviews, evaluating emerging risks, and ensuring the portfolio aligns with the bank’s risk appetite, regulatory expectations, and return objectives. Through strong analytical insight, collaboration, and disciplined monitoring, the Portfolio Manager helps safeguard the bank’s capital while supporting client growth and long‑term relationship value.

Duties & Responsibilities

Portfolio Management & Client Service

  • Monitor the performance, credit quality, and risk profile of a portfolio of structured finance credit facilities, including asset‑backed lending, specialty finance, securitization structures, and project finance loans.
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of collateral pools, borrowing base availability, delinquency trends, concentration risks, and asset‑level performance metrics.
  • Review and validate client reporting packages, servicer reports, trust statements, and third‑party data to ensure accuracy and compliance with loan requirements.
  • Oversee covenant compliance, financial reporting, and adherence to eligibility criteria, advance rates, and other deal-specific structural features.
  • Prepare and present periodic credit reviews, trend analyses, and portfolio summaries to Credit and senior leadership.
  • Evaluate and recommend actions on amendment, waiver, and modification requests, collaborating with Relationship Managers and Credit partners.
  • Support underwriting of renewals, extensions, and restructurings by analyzing updated borrower performance and structure viability.
  • Identify emerging risks or early warning signals and proactively escalate concerns; develop mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Partner with Legal, Operations, and Syndications teams to ensure documentation, collateral controls, and reporting processes remain aligned with deal structure.
  • Participate in audits, regulatory examinations, and internal control reviews by providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Support deal onboarding by reviewing structure mechanics, reporting requirements, and operational workflows to ensure a smooth transition from origination to portfolio management.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers to address client needs, support relationship retention, and ensure a high level of service.
  • Ensure all portfolio management activities adhere to internal policies, risk frameworks, and regulatory requirements.

Education & Experience

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or other related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in structured finance.
  • Demonstrated experience in credit underwriting, portfolio management, or collateral‑based lending structures.
  • Strong understanding of structured finance mechanics, including borrowing base calculations, advance rates, eligibility criteria, covenants, and collateral reporting requirements.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.

 

(Base Pay Range: $98,000 - $127,055/year)
