Airgas is looking for a dedicated, relationship-focused Sales Specialist (Specialty Gas) who will steward and nurture sustainable growth and value of specialty gas products within an assigned region. This role focuses on nurturing and maintaining strong customer relationships, discovering and welcoming new business opportunities, and sharing technical expertise and guidance to co-create solutions and support customer aspirations.

  • Drive Strategic Growth: Discover and cultivate new partnership paths across target industries to advance specialty gas product growth, including pure gases, mixtures, and equipment.

  • Nurture Customer Relationships: Build alignment with new and existing accounts, deeply understanding their evolving needs to ensure long-term satisfaction and sustainable growth.

  • Co-Create Technical Solutions: Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations to support customers, collaborating closely with internal operations, customer service, and technical support teams for seamless delivery.

  • Commercial Collaboration: Partner with clients on pricing and contract terms while preparing accurate pipeline updates and market insights in Salesforce to keep teams aligned.

  • Industry Engagement: Represent Airgas at industry events and trade shows to build authentic community connections and expand professional relationships.

  • Integrity & Excellence: Maintain clear internal communication, protect confidential information, and present a professional image reflective of our core values.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Sales Background: Ideally, you bring 2–3 years of outside sales experience, with a strong background in building relationships across key target sectors (e.g., chemical, power, pharmaceutical, education, or industrial/specialty gas sectors).

  • Tools & Systems: Proficiency in Salesforce (or similar CRM software) for pipeline management and collaborative progress tracking

  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to manage dynamic priorities effectively.

  • We value experience in industrial retail, inside sales, or inventory control.

  • Attention to detail in handling transactions.

  • Availability for occasional overtime when the team needs extra support.

  • We are looking for candidates who can operate in a drug-free workplace.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related scientific/technical field.

  • We value a background in gas, welding, or safety supplies as a wonderful asset.

  • Experience with SAP, Google, or MS Office Applications.

  • Proficiency in SAP and PROS functionalities.

  • The ability to communicate clearly and warmly with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds.
