Job Description
Role overview | Context
In the Specialist Regional, Department People Partner role, you’ll be responsible for partnering closely with the Regional People Leader to provide a world class service to your client group. You’ll do this by delivering a proactive and customer focused service through providing effective support, guidance, and advice to managers and employees on a wide variety of People areas, including employee relations, policy, and process.
Working closely with the Regional People Leader, you will help ensure operational readiness and organizational excellence for your client groups.
Role overview | Remit and Responsibilities
- Amongst other duties, this role will be primarily responsible for the below:
- Managing all key processes for the North & South America Market including:
- Probation period management (including terminations/failed probations)
- Onboarding and off-boarding process in Workday and our US, HRIS system, Paychex including completing exit interviews
- Managing all documentation including employment contracts, contract addendums, employment verifications etc
- Flexible Work Requests, providing coaching and support to managers and employees on the process and navigating to an appropriate solution
- Support the Department People Partnering team on departmental People initiatives, including growth and performance cycle processes and talent reviews.
- Liaise with Benefits Manager to manage benefits queries
Employee relations:
- Handling and resolving employee grievances, disputes and complaints in a timely and effective manner
- Complete low level investigations when needed, and partner with the Regional People Leader ensuring fair and thorough processes, quality documentation and recommending appropriate actions or disciplinary measures
- Facilitate mediation and conflict resolution sessions between employees and line managers
- Manage the performance improvement process (PIP), partnering with line managers and employees end to end. Provide advice on the process where needed and coach managers on navigating the process.
- Handle involuntary termination meetings, ensuring line managers receive guidance each step of the way and appropriate documentation is provided (scripts, letters to employees etc).
- Ensure ER tracker is kept up to date at all times.
Reporting, data and insights:
- Synthesise quarterly engagement results and feedback, displaying results in a digestible format to help educate the business on key insights and improvement opportunity areas
- Make recommendations for improvement based on engagement hotspots
- Complete regular exit interview analysis to identity reasons for attrition and make recommendations on actions to address key issues
Additional Responsibilities:
- Work directly with Mangers to support them in effectively managing their teams - helping improve management capabilities and team effectiveness
- Support with people related projects of varying complexity and scale
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business or any other related field preferred and/or CIPD, SHRM qualification or relevant years of experience
- Demonstrable experience as People Advisor, HR Business Partner or HR Generalist in a fast-paced, global start-up environment ideally in the Tech industry
- Deep knowledge of people policies, procedures, compliance and practices with an ability to coach managers through each process and provide quality advice
- Proven ability to dig into data and make data-driven recommendations on ways to improve the employee experience and/or culture
- Ability to learn from peers and previous experience, think outside of the box, and knows that there could be more than one solution to a problem
- Ability to listen and understand the needs of the employees and leaders alike
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders
- The ability to achieve results in a fast-paced environment and navigate leaders through a variety of organisational changes
- High level of emotional intelligence, including self-awareness, empathy, and interpersonal skills, to effectively manage relationships and resolve conflicts
Additional Information
New York City law requires Checkout.com to include in job postings a reasonable estimated salary range for this position. However, exact compensation may vary subject to several factors such as a candidate’s level, relevant experience, qualifications, skills and proficiency for the role.
The information provided here is applicable to those working in the New York City office. However, this role may also open to applicants from other US locations and will be advised on the relevant pay for that location.
For regular full-time employees in New York City, the estimated base salary for this role is $88,000 to $103,500 per year. Additionally, this role is eligible to earn up to 10% discretionary bonus based on performance.
