The Role
- Deliver well-documented, modular architecture designs that support current and future digital solutions across the enterprise.
- Ensure Platform Alignment with Enterprise Standards
- Align platform architecture with enterprise architecture principles, technology governance, and security frameworks.
- Design and recommend solutions that facilitate seamless interoperability between systems, applications, and services.
- Provide architectural input and oversight to software engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure consistency and reuse.
- Integrate performance tuning, scalability, and secure-by-design practices into all architectural designs.
- Monitor technology trends and propose enhancements that future-proof the platform and support innovation.
Responsibilities
- Define and enforce code-level architecture standards and best practices across frontend and backend teams.
- Create and maintain reference implementations, starter kits, shared frameworks, and reusable templates for engineers.
- Own coding guidelines: structure, naming, error handling, testing strategy, dependency management, and CI quality gates.
- Review codebases to ensure alignment with architecture principles, simplicity, and maintainability.
- Drive consistent engineering practices (SOLID, clean architecture, design patterns, secure coding).
- Establish organization-wide standards for frontend and backend tooling (linting, formatting, testing, build pipelines).
- Coach and mentor junior engineers; run clinics, brown-bags, and code walkthroughs.
- Partner with platform architects to translate high-level architecture into practical coding patterns.
- Identify refactoring opportunities and lead technical improvement initiatives to reduce complexity and defects.
- Promote a culture of engineering excellence, continuous learning, and shared ownership of quality.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Relevant certifications :TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture
- Postgraduate qualification in Architecture, Systems Design, or Cloud Computing. (Advantageous)
Experience:
- Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in software/platform architecture, systems design, or enterprise technology environments
Skills :
- Strong hands-on capability in frontend tech (e.g., React/React Native, TypeScript, state management, performance).
- Strong hands-on capability in backend tech (e.g., Node.js/TypeScript, APIs, microservices patterns, databases).
- Excellence in clean code, testing (unit/integration/contract), and CI/CD quality automation.
- Ability to simplify complex engineering topics into teachable, repeatable practices.
- Comfortable doing deep code reviews, pairing, and architectural troubleshooting.
- Collaborative and patient coaching style; high attention to detail and developer experience.
