Key Responsibilities:
- Manage employee payroll enquiries and support social insurance, benefits, and retirement payment administration.
- Administer PTO, working time, attendance records, and overtime compliance processes.
- Partner with payroll vendors to deliver accurate payroll processing, validations, and statutory reporting.
- Liaise with government agencies, including labour, tax, and local authorities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain payroll, employee, and time & attendance data within Workday and related systems.
- Support payroll audits, reporting, forecasting, process improvements, and cross-functional initiatives with HR, Benefits, Finance, and Global teams.
Skills and Experience:
- Over 3 years of experience in the field of payroll and Time and Attendance management in Japan.
- Strong knowledge of tax and employment legislation in Japan
- Experience working in a global matrix organisation.
- Business level of English proficiency. (Must read, write, speak in business level)
- Experience leading or supporting payroll vendor transitions, system implementations, or significant process and system changes is a plus.
- Proficient in understanding payroll accounting
