Your New Role...
Genre expert on the US MAX Merchandising team which is responsible for maximizing the full potential of content on MAX. This role will report to a US MAX Page Lead.
Your Role Accountabilities...
Operational

  • Power user of CMS
  • Owns day-to-day curation and execution of genre/brand rails, contributes to campaign planning, and assists Merchandising Page Leads on execution of overall high-traffic page experience
  • Champions their respective areas of content and advocates for its promotion on high-traffic pages
  • Updates content calendar with priority premieres, changes in rollouts schedules and relevant cultural events/anniversaries
  • Assigns and reviews the genre/brand/editorial tags and availability messaging for all content within their expertise on a weekly basis
  • Collaborate regularly with Brand partners to review upcoming priority initiatives and the results of past initiatives
  • Manages automated rails on genre/brand/collection pages based on the analytics, priority content calendar, feedback from Page Leads, and acute awareness of cultural moments in the market
  • Partners with the campaigns team to execute their vision; supports the campaign within their genre experience and contributes genre-specific ideas
  • Acts as a shared resource for CMS and other tooling support & troubleshooting for other team members
  • Supports off-hours coverage of ex-US territories
  • Implements the testing and rollout of feature / capabilities updates
  • Uses data from the Merchandising Analysis & Insights team to inform merchandising decisions day to day
  • Supports US Merchandising Lead and Page Leads on ad hoc initiatives


Strategy

  • Expert on respective area of content, contributing Merchandising ideas across the platform
  • Supports the Page Leads on research and initiative planning
  • Supports Page Leads in evaluating and establishing merchandising plans and strategy by assembling performance, planning and organizing presentations, and updating calendar plans
  • Leverages merchandising strategies to improve content discoverability, minutes/impression, impression efficiency, content diversity, and other relevant KPIs that improve the engagement/retention of subscribers and the performance of content on BEAM
  • Uses data to drive decisions; shares actionable insights and recommendations with the Global Merchandising team as well as other stakeholders
  • Keeps informed and is aware of latest developments in the industry / culture which we can leverage for our merchandising strategies, providing insights to US Merchandising Lead and Page Leads


Development

  • Builds close relationship with US Merchandising Lead and with wider team members, to be able to present and share findings in a cohesive manner


Qualifications & Experience...

  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience in entertainment merchandising or content strategy, preferably in streaming.
  • Passionate about all things content: Expert knowledge on respective areas of content, deep familiarity with WBD's catalog, strong familiarity with competitor's content and curious of trends in the media business overall
  • Data-Driven: Has experience analyzing data and using it to optimize the right time and right place to present the right content to our subscribers. Working knowledge of evolving performance metrics and implementation into strategy
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Commanding knowledge of various editorial tools and CMSs
    • Great attention to detail, creative thinker and problem-solving skills
    • Research skills in entertainment trends and ability to incorporate into strategy
    • Strong writing skills and loves a creative brainstorm
    • Relentless pursuit of operations and work-flow efficiency
    • Ability to quickly learn new processes and product features / capabilities
    • High self-initiative with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Consumer Obsessed: highly respect the consumer and their connections with their favorite content
  • Interpersonal Excellence:
    • Working relationships with Scheduling, CS&A, Programming, Marketing, Content Ops, Enterprise Metadata, and Image teams; comfort collaborating with functions including Product, Engineering, and Data / Reporting
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Self-starter with a positive, "can-do" attitude

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $54,600.00 - $101,400.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
