Trader (FX & Investments)

We are seeking a Specialist Trader to join our team based in Asturias, Spain! They will play a pivotal role in treasury operations, cash management, and financial risk mitigation strategies. It will be responsible for executing and managing foreign exchange trades and investment strategies, commercial paper issuance, commodities hedging and interest expense management across international markets. Strategic insights and analytical skills are critical in mitigating company exposures and supporting senior management's decision-making process to achieve company goals.

Where You’ll Make a Difference

• Executes and manages FX trades, investments, commercial paper issuances, commodity hedging, and funding transactions in line with company policies.
• Supports global treasury activities, including intercompany lending, borrowing, dividends, capital injections, and external financing.
• Monitors global financial markets to identify risks, opportunities, and emerging trends that impact the business.
• Provides market insights, recommendations, and strategic guidance to senior management and internal stakeholders.
• Manages relationships with banks, financial institutions, counterparties, and investors.
• Utilizes trading platforms and analytical tools to execute transactions and monitor portfolio performance effectively.
• Prepares and analyzes key treasury reports, including FX dashboards, investment reports, country risk assessments, interest reports, and earnings impact analysis.
• Identifies and implements process improvements, evaluates new investment opportunities, and recommends optimal funding and hedging strategies.
• Ensures compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, risk management frameworks, and ethical trading standards.
• Optimizes treasury performance by minimizing FX gains/losses, maximizing investment returns, reducing funding costs, managing counterparty risk, and protecting against commodity price fluctuations.

What Makes You the Right Fit

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. 
• Master’s degree or MBA preferred
• Attention to detail and agility to execute trades accurately and timely prior to market cut-offs
• Strong understanding of financial markets, trading strategies, and risk management techniques.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Proficiency in trading platforms and financial software.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate across teams.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and competitive environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work under time pressures and to manage and prioritize multiple activities.
• English Proficiency

How Would You Stand Out?

• Proven experience of more than 2 years in Treasury operations with knowledge of FX trading and investing preferably in a global context
• Knowledge of Quantum, 360T and Bloomberg systems is preferable.
• Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills with all levels internally and externally.
• Demonstrated expertise in Excel and PowerPoint 
• Working schedule within standard business hours.
• Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to meet deadlines or during peak periods.
• Flexibility to work on local bank holidays when global markets are opened
• Occasional travel may be required for meetings, training, or conferences
