While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, we are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported.
The FCM Operations team supports the Coinbase Financial Markets, Inc US Futures business by managing back office operations including: futures trade flow management, position management, margin monitoring, internal and regulatory reporting, and business analytics. We are also key operators in new product launches, feature enhancements, and vendor management.
What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):
- Own exception management across cash, positions, trades, and margin—triage, investigate, resolve breaks, and drive durable fixes
- Act as the Operations/Product liaison for new product development and launches—define operational requirements, edge cases, and control needs
- Lead operational readiness for launches—UAT/test case design and execution, playbooks/runbooks, cutover plans, and post-launch stabilization
- Partner with Product, Risk, Compliance, Accounting, and Engineering to design processes, controls, and reporting that scale and meet regulatory expectations
- Establish monitoring and exception reporting (SLAs, KPIs, dashboards) and run incident/bug triage with clear escalation paths
- Perform root cause analysis and drive post-mortems, translating learnings into product and process improvements
- Identify and implement automation/tooling (self-serve, low-code, or via Engineering) to reduce operational friction and manual work
What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):
- 3+ years of experience in the financial or tech industry; combination of FCM and broker-dealer experience with emphasis on Operations, Accounting, or Project Management
- Demonstrated strength in exception-based operations: analytical problem solving, prioritization, and escalation/judgment
- Comfortable navigating and executing across multiple operational functions
- Product launch and operational readiness experience (requirements gathering, UAT, playbooks, go-live support)
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and effective business partnering across functions
- Project management skills with the ability to deliver in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
- Strong work ethic and a collaborative, ownership mindset
- Knowledge of investments and interest in blockchain/cryptocurrency
- Basic understanding of listed derivatives and their unique characteristics
Nice to haves:
- BA/BS degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Accounting or related field
- Basic knowledge of digital assets and the crypto economy, or a desire to learn
- Experience working at a publicly traded company
- Familiarity with XTP system
