POSITION PROFILE

The Digital Prepress Specialist supports the accurate evaluation and proofing of customer-supplied artwork to ensure a print ready product. They will support preflight, imposition, color management, and will work closely with our creative team on various projects. They will provide precise file output of artwork for subsequent processing in a manner that meets or exceeds customer specifications. Candidates will have a background in design/print production and an understanding of print production workflows.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

�·         Preflight and prepare files for digital output.

�·         Produce accurate proofs and develop imposition layouts to meet printing specifications.

�·         Coordinate color management of files with digital output devices.

�·         Preflight, layout, and prepare content for customer Web-to-Print catalogs.

�·         Provide strong customer service to internal and client stakeholders

�·         Stay knowledgeable of industry trends, new ideas, and technologies

�·         Adheres to legal requirements relating to duplication, printing, software, and fonts.

�·         Adheres to production schedules and deadlines.

�·         Reviews proofs and works with operators on the production of printed material.

�·         Work with VDP (Variable Data Printing) tools and techniques.

�·         aAsset management and manage document libraries

�·         Performs other tasks as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications)

Typically Required:

�·         4-year college degree (Design) preferred or other related coursework/certificates or equivalent years of related work experience

�·         Expertise with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft products in Mac and PC platforms

�·         Proven preflight, design and layout abilities

�·         Requires a minimum of three years of related job experience

�·         Print production experience preferred

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

�·         Preflight, design, and imposition skills

�·         Ability to use desktop publishing tools, specifically Adobe Creative Suite & Microsoft Suite

�·         Must be able to work in a team environment by maintaining positive, productive relationships with co-workers, management, sales, and production departments.

�·         Must be able to adapt to changing situations and be flexible.

�·         Must be able to perform repetitive work by continuously executing different tasks according to set procedures, sequence, or pace while maintaining quality and output standards.

�·         Attention to detail

�·         Creativity and flexibility

 

WORKING CONDITIONS, MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

�·         Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level

�·         Requires internal contact within the department and with other corporate personnel, and external contact with customers, agencies, vendors, etc. and General Public

�·         Work assignments are diversified Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems New alternatives may be developed to resolve the problem

�·         Physical effort is required, such as walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects could weigh up to 50 lbs (e.g., papers, books, files, and small parts, etc.)
