POSITION SUMMARY:

The Digital Communications Specialist plays a vital role in execution of PAMED communications through digital communications channels, including but not limited to social media, podcast, and webinars to promote the services and messaging across all platforms that consistently articulates PAMED’s mission and policies. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of digital media trends and best practices. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:  

  1. Produce and edit multimedia content, including videos, graphics, and audio, using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and related software.
  2. Monitor social media for mentions and coordinate responses as necessary. 
  3. Plan, create, schedule, and monitor social media content across all platforms to increase engagement and visibility.
  4. Track social media performance metrics and adjust strategies based on analytics and digital media trends.
  5. Coordinate, produce, and edit podcasts, including scripting support, recording, and postproduction.
  6. Manage webinar logistics, including platform setup, speaker coordination, live technical support, and post event follow up.
  7. Work closely with internal teams to translate organizational initiatives, policies, and services into compelling digital communications.
  8. Manage multiple concurrent projects, deadlines, and content requests with strong attention to detail.
  9. Participate in planning meetings to provide digital strategy recommendations and creative input.
  10. Monitor digital communications performance and provide regular reports on engagement, reach, and effectiveness.
  11. Identify emerging digital trends and recommend new tools, formats, or strategies to enhance communication efforts
  12. Monitor and respond to inquiries from members and stakeholders via email and social media.
  13. Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent branding and messaging across all materials and platforms.
  14. Conduct research to inform communication strategies, such as audience trends, industry best practices, and competitor activities.
  15. Provide logistical support for events and other public-facing initiatives.
  16. Serve as a backup for managing meeting agendas. 
  17. Provide assistance for emergent communication needs in the absence of the Director, Communications & Media Relations and/or Marketing & Communications Project Coordinator.
  18. Actively assesses and improves contributions to company culture by practicing advocacy meaningfully, encouraging and respecting individuals' ideas and experiences, elevating colleagues' confidence to bring their whole and best selves to work, and navigate all communication based in active listening and thoughtful dialogue.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:

Assist with coordination of other Communications, Membership and PAMED initiatives, as well as other duties that may be requested or assigned.

Hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Operation of a motor vehicle, occasionally.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: Required Skill/Education/Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Knowledge of design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or similar tools
  • Proficiency of video/audio production and editing
  • Experience with webinar platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency of social media platforms and content management systems (CMS)
  • Background in social media marketing and web maintenance and basic HTML a plus
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail
  • Creative thinker with an approach to problem solving
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to meet deadlines, track multiple priorities and manage a high project volume
  • Background in multiple types of both journalistic and marketing writing and editing 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AP Style 
  • Proficiency in digital communications tools and platforms
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills utilizing goal-oriented team approach
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Valid state issued driver’s license

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:  

This position must meet daily deadlines and will have periodic occasions requiring night and weekend responsibilities. Attendance at the Annual House of Delegates meeting. Minimal travel required. Ability to monitor/respond to social media and media-related activities outside of working hours on occasion. Flexibility to adapt to changing environments and priorities.
