JOB OVERVIEW:
The Specialist, Corporate Strategy, Mergers & Acquisitions (CSMA) is a manager-level individual contributor who independently delivers strategic, financial and transaction analysis across insurance and broader financial services. • Evaluate organic growth and market entry, expansion and exit opportunities, considering market attractiveness, competitive position, required capabilities, economics, risks and implementation needs.
• Assess portfolio and capital allocation choices across the Group, including where to invest, scale, reshape, partner or divest, and the implications for long-term value creation and risk.
2. Lead the development, and first-level review where required, of integrated financial models, valuations and business cases for organic growth, acquisitions and divestitures, ensuring outputs are auditable and support scenario, sensitivity and capital-impact analysis.
3. Conduct research and analysis to support the identification and assessment of potential acquisition targets that are consistent with the Group’s strategic direction.
4. Support the Vice President through M&A processes via development of valuations, transaction structuring, synergy assessment and designing and post-merger integration for major acquisitions, ensuring that estimated post-merger synergies are realised.
5. Analyse business performance and value drivers across insurance and broader financial services, including, where relevant, IFRS 17, claims, reserves, reinsurance, investment income, capital and solvency.
6. Prepare concise executive-ready papers; maintain strong model governance and quality assurance; review analytical work where assigned; and perform other related duties as assigned by the Vice President, Corporate Strategy, Mergers & Acquisitions.
