Job Overview

The Civic Engagement Specialist will work closely with the Civic Engagement and Government Relations teams in support of the department’s goals and objectives to promote civic participation. This position requires a deep understanding of the connection between civic engagement and its impact on the social determinants of health. The Civic Engagement Specialist will provide ongoing support to promote optimal communication among the civic engagement team, supporting departments, campaign consultants, temporary campaign staff, and volunteers to ensure optimal workflow. The Specialist will also ensure the efficient daily functioning and productivity of the campaign office. The Specialist will be the key liaison between the Civic Engagement team and external campaign consultants and campaign staff. Provides general administrative support, including scheduling staff meetings, taking meeting minutes, and preparing meeting materials. Will assist AVP in creating and managing campaign budgets. Will also assist with the training of phone bankers, canvassers, and volunteers.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience related to Civic Engagement, Community Outreach, Education, and Planning.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience, or 3-4 election cycles in political and issue advocacy campaigns required.

  • Experience managing campaign staff or serving as a campaign staff or one or more political campaigns.

  • Proven experience in managing internal processes, project teams, and budgets.

  • Exceptional ability to analyze information, formulate plans, adopt plans and tactics as conditions change, and convey them in writing and through oral presentations.

Compensation

$82,409.60 - $103,012.00 annually

The range is subject to change. AltaMed is committed to ensuring a fair and competitive compensation package that reflects the candidate's value and the role's strategic importance within the organization.
