Job Description

In collaboration with the Senior Director, Training and Cabin Standards, the Specialist, Cabin Standards Support acts as a subject matter expert, ensuring cabin standards compliance across the fleet, supporting cabin crew with daily operational questions, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives related to cabin safety, equipment, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the subject matter expert for cabin standards, aircraft cabin equipment, and regulatory compliance across various aircraft types
  • Manage the cabin safety and standards components of projects related to new aircraft, cabin equipment, and product implementation
  • Liaise with internal departments and external partners to ensure cabin layouts, equipment, and procedures align with manufacturer manuals and regulatory requirements
  • Schedule and conduct cabin inspections for new aircraft, aircraft returning from C-check, and importation inspections when required
  • Respond daily to cabin safety and standards questions from cabin crew and stakeholders
  • Monitor recurring issues, conduct investigations, ensure corrective actions, and develop or update work tools based on findings
  • Regularly review, update, and contribute to operational documentation and training content (FAM, CSM, announcements, training programs)
  • Conduct in-flight and ground inspections to assess the quality and compliance of procedures and equipment

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in project management or a related role
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Flight Attendant
  • Strong ability to interpret policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent organizational skills, with strong time and priority management abilities
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to advocate for compliance while collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders
  • High attention to detail, with strong documentation and reporting practices
  • Ability to travel and work flexible schedules as required, while maintaining Flight Attendant qualifications
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and demonstrated ease with collaborative digital tools and AI (e.g., Copilot)
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Oral and written fluency in French and English*
    A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and internationally.

  • In-depth knowledge of Transport Canada procedures and regulations
  • Experience in a previous role as a Flight Attendant Manager, as defined in the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs)
  • Experience using AI to create operational efficiencies
