To support the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the organization's Business Continuity Management (BCM) programme, ensuring the resilience of critical business operations against disruptions. The role is responsible for business continuity planning, risk assessments, business impact analyses, crisis preparedness, incident response coordination, and compliance with regulatory and industry standards to minimize operational, financial, and reputational impact.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and review Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) to ensure critical business functions can continue during and after disruptive events.
  • Facilitate Business Impact Analysis (BIA) exercises to identify critical business processes, dependencies, recovery priorities, and recovery objectives.
  • Conduct continuity and resilience risk assessments to identify threats, vulnerabilities, and potential impacts on business operations.
  • Support the development and implementation of business continuity and operational resilience strategies, including recovery solutions and contingency measures.
  • Coordinate periodic reviews and updates of continuity plans to reflect organizational, operational, technology, and regulatory changes.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute business continuity testing and simulation exercises, documenting findings and tracking remediation actions.
  • Support incident response and crisis management activities during business disruptions, ensuring effective communication, coordination, and recovery efforts.
  • Monitor emerging risks and recommend actions to strengthen organizational resilience and preparedness.
  • Drive BCM awareness across the organization through training, workshops, communication campaigns, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business units, technology teams, risk functions, and external partners to ensure continuity requirements are integrated into business operations.
  • Maintain BCM governance documentation, metrics, reports, and relevant records to support management oversight and audit requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies, industry standards, and business continuity best practices, including ISO 22301. 
  • Support internal and external audits, regulatory assessments, and assurance reviews related to business continuity and operational resilience.
  • Track and report BCM programme performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving corrective actions to closure.
  • Promote a culture of resilience and continuous improvement across the organization through regular monitoring, reviews, and lessons learned activities
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Certified Resilience Business Continuity Manager (CRBCM), or similar will be an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of BCM standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST 800-34).

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Business Continuity Management, Risk Management, or related field.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
