What you will do:
- Guide the development and editing process of key Bloomberg Law special reports. Develop report formats. Edit, write and gather content as needed for use in reports.
- Communicate with law firm personnel and other external contacts on submission inquiries and other questions related to special reports.
- Closely steer the submission and review process and promptly respond to inquiries and/or questions. Guide applicants and firm personnel through the submission and review processes. Serve as a resource for newsroom teams reviewing materials in submission-driven special reports. This will include creating organizational tools to facilitate submission review.
- Communicate with other teams inside and outside of the newsroom to facilitate the publication and marketing of special report content.
- Conduct other duties as assigned.
You need to have:
- Bachelor's degree with coursework in English or journalism preferred.
- At least 5 years of professional journalism experience, which includes at least 3 years editing experience.
- Demonstrated experience editing and writing news features.
- Demonstrated experience conceptualizing, leading and collaborating on longer-term news projects from concept pitch to publication.
- Experience collaborating with other editors and graphics teams.
- Background knowledge on the legal profession; law firms preferred.
