Summary:
A clinically competent professional who works collaboratively with RNs and physicians in the cardiology and radiology angiography suites to provide radiologic assistance for procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Scrub and assist physicians during diagnostic/interventional angiographic procedures.
- Operates angiographic equipment to obtain and optimize diagnostic imaging.
- Responsible for sterile table set-up for specific angiographic/implant procedures.
- Competent to scrub procedures 1 to 2 of the following specialties: Cardiology, Interventional Radiology, Electrophysiology, Structural Heart, or Interventional Neuro-Radiology.
- Competency is determined by the successful completion of department orientation and contingent on team leader and management approval.
Required Qualifications:
Education and Training:
- Valid Illinois RT license, ARRT and IEMA certifications required.
- CPR required. ACLS within 6 months of hire.
- Previous radiology experience required.
- Previously Interventional Cardiology, Radiology, or Neuro-Radiology strongly preferred.
- Must be able to take 8-10 days of call for emergent procedures per month.
- Must be able to arrive to the hospital within 30 minutes of being notified.
