Scope of the Role:
This is an individual contributor role and has no direct reports
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with operationalization of overall cybersecurity strategy and contribute to core TVM functions including but not limited to vulnerability scanning, assignment and management of vulnerabilities, asset management research, code scanning and reporting.
- Support tool integration in support of TVM reporting and tracking (spreadsheets, databases, SOAR tool, SIEM, etc.)
- Evaluate tools and services to automate and streamline TVM processes and procedures; identify gaps in current processes, provide and implement recommendations
- Work with team members to provide recommendations related to the vulnerability management program; help execute on recommendations
- Support non-traditional or special case TVM activities (e.g. POC new technologies, tracking, reporting, and presenting on high-visibility vulnerabilities).
- Support our GRC function by aiding with customer requests related to vulnerability management & penetration testing inquiries
- Assist the penetration tester with coordination, scheduling, and tracking
- Coordination of cross-functional initiatives with development, operations, application, and infrastructure teams on vulnerability management projects
- Research, assess, and debrief leadership on identified or confirmed security related issues and events in a timely manner; build executive summary stance on specific vulnerabilities
- Deliver and achieve success against program measurements (e.g. KPIs)
- Provide gathered evidence of TVM activities in support of compliance or customer audits.
- This includes but is not limited to tool configurations, vulnerability history, tool access, and KRI/KPI reports.
Experience, Education, and Certifications:
- BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, related field, or equivalent work experience (desired but not required)
- Technology experience with the following
- Vulnerability management tools (scanner technology), advanced cyber security tools, knowledge of firewall and router configuration, switches, secure network architecture, VPNs, PKI or encryption, network monitoring technologies, operating systems (Windows, various flavors of Linux/Unix) security tools (AV/EDR, etc.) and facilities
- Working knowledge and experience in project management disciplines and processes
- Entry-level of awareness of current attack vectors or TTPs of threat actors
- Entry-level knowledge of application, cloud, and infrastructure security best practices
- Entry-level knowledge of security frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, etc.)
- Organized individual with advanced level of time/project management skills
- Certification as a CISSP, CISA and/or CFE, or GIAC certification(s) (desired but not required)
Additional Requirements:
- Understanding of cybersecurity and data protection
- Understanding of telecommunications and wireless industry
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Analytical/troubleshooting skills
- Understanding of cybersecurity foundational concepts
