The SOX Lead, reporting to the Global SOX 404 Controls & Compliance Associate Director, is responsible for leading and coordinating SOX 404 compliance activities across designated regions. The role oversees business process testing in Singapore, including planning, execution oversight, and issue resolution, while serving as the key liaison between control owners and external auditors to ensure alignment on deficiencies, remediation, and closure. It also drives readiness activities in India for SOX compliance by 2027, including developing controls, creating process flows, onboarding and confirming new control owners, and documenting processes and controls in Workiva.This position is critical to advancing Cushman & Wakefield’s SOX program, ensuring global consistency, audit readiness, and continued program maturity.
Job Description
About the Role:
- Regional Oversight (Singapore): Lead and manage SOX business process control testing, ensuring quality, timeliness, and compliance with audit standards.
- Audit Intermediary: Act as the primary liaison with KPMG, coordinating walkthroughs, testing updates, deficiency discussions, and remediation tracking.
- India SOX Readiness (2027): Drive the design and implementation of new SOX controls, develop process flows, confirm control ownership, and ensure complete documentation in Workiva.
- Documentation & Governance: Maintain accurate process documentation, risk assessments, testing evidence, and remediation logs while supporting global governance and SOX compliance training.
- Team Leadership & Reporting: Provide guidance to testing teams, oversee execution consistency, track remediation progress, and contribute to global SOX project management and status reporting.
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; CPA, CA, CIA, or equivalent certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of SOX 404 requirements, internal controls, and audit methodologies, with proven experience in control testing and remediation.
- Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with external auditors and senior stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on compliance matters.
- Experience in designing and implementing internal controls, developing process documentation, and using SOX compliance tools (e.g., Workiva).
- Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills, with the ability to guide teams, manage deadlines, and contribute to global governance initiatives.
