If you were the Sourcing Specialist now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- Owning product cost estimates and vendor cost negotiations to meet and/or exceed target FOB/margins for new product
- Contributing to the development process through providing insight into cost drivers and trade opportunities
- Collecting and maintaining sourcing and vendor information databases and tools
- Partnering directly with global vendors, as well as Arc’teryx own factory, to accurately communicate model requirements, buy ready and production ready specifications, approved reference samples and patterns to meet Arc’teryx established fit, quality and construction standards
- Supporting Sourcing, Product Development, and Quality in the training of factory resources and ensure that Arc’teryx brand standards are met
- Contributing to the development process by ensuring successful integration of new initiatives into the I2C (Innovation to Consumer) calendar
- Collecting and maintaining data related to vendor performance to drive informed decision-making and process improvements.
- Generating regular reports and presentations to share sourcing insights with cross functional teams and senior management.
- Staying informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovations in the apparel sector
- Upholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain.
- By working closely with the Amer Sports Global Sourcing Vendor Sustainability team on quarterly business reviews and training/capacity building (at least annually).
- By adhering to negotiated lead times and balanced annual capacities to expedite responsible purchasing practices as outlined in the Responsible Sourcing Policy.

- You have 5+ years’ experience in sourcing, or product development with a focus on technical, innovative apparel and equipment
- You have an Undergraduate Degree OR equivalent industry training, certification, or related business experience
- You have experience effectively communicating with, and travelling to domestic and offshore vendors and manufacturers
- You have experience in product costing and negotiation skills
- You have a comprehensive understanding of design intent, product aesthetics, construction, production and fit
- You have a complete understanding of the product lifecycle process - from ideation to consumer
- You have a strong knowledge of raw materials, technical construction, and sourcing
- You are detailed and accuracy oriented with strong organizational skills
- You demonstrate initiative, agility and commitment
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
