Sourcing Pursuits Lead - What this job involves

The Sourcing Pursuit Lead will support a specific industry division by developing innovative third-party solutions and competitive pricing strategies. This role involves close collaboration with Sourcing Specialists and Client Delivery leaders to deliver comprehensive sourcing solutions that drive new business wins, client expansions, and successful renewals. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary sourcing liaison for their assigned industry division, ensuring tailored solutions that meet sector-specific client needs, and may also lead global pursuit initiatives requiring multi-regional coordination.

This position must be an independent thinker, have strong executive presence, demonstrate creativity for unique/unknown client requests, manage both strategic and tactical details, and have extraordinary problem-solving skills to never allow a roadblock to stop them.

Key Responsibilities:

Industry Division Partnership Serve as the primary sourcing point of contact for an assigned industry division, developing deep understanding of sector-specific requirements, market dynamics, and client expectations. Build strong working relationships with Sales teams and  Sourcing Client Delivery leads to ensure alignment on sourcing strategies and business objectives.

Solution Development & Delivery Collaborate with Sourcing Specialists to develop end-to-end third-party solutions that address specific industry challenges and opportunities. Lead the sourcing component of pursuit activities, ensuring competitive positioning through innovative supplier partnerships and pricing strategies tailored to industry division needs.

Global Pursuit Leadership Act as Global Pursuit Lead on multi-region client opportunities, coordinating sourcing activities across multiple geographic markets. Collaborate with Pursuit Leads in other regions to ensure cohesive global solutions that maintain consistency while addressing local market requirements. Manage cross-regional communication and alignment to deliver unified sourcing strategies that support JLL's global client objectives.

Market Intelligence & Strategy Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and supplier capabilities within your assigned sector. Provide insights and recommendations to enhance JLL's market positioning and identify new sourcing opportunities that align with industry division growth strategies.

Client Engagement & Relationship Building Support client meetings and presentations by providing sourcing expertise and solution recommendations and developing targeted solutions to meet their needs.

Cross-Regional Collaboration Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Pursuit Leads and sourcing teams across JLL's global network. Share best practices, market intelligence, and solution frameworks to enhance collective capabilities and ensure consistent service delivery standards worldwide.

Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to enhance sourcing processes and solutions specific to your industry division and global pursuit activities. Collaborate with team members to share best practices and implement improvements that benefit both the industry division and broader sourcing organization.

 

Required

  • Be a subject matter expert in support of JLL sourcing strategies, supplier relationships, and program management.

  • Create, present, and sell JLL’s Sourcing Solution to internal Sales organization and external Client teams

  • Ability to understand and identify contractual terms impacting Sourcing & Procurement; establish a relationship with Corporate Legal & Risk to ensure all contractual terms are compliant.

  • Review all RFP client documents to develop a detailed Sourcing Strategy; including category-specific strategies, resource models, cost-saving ideas, innovations, and creative approaches to differentiate JLL from our competitors.

  • Engage and leverage Sourcing & Procurement Platform and Key Stakeholders for support in developing a Sourcing Program

  • Engage suppliers to challenge the status quo, seek savings glide paths, benchmarks, or an underwritten solution for each category.

  • Analyze supplier cost proposals, financial reports and other data to determine the reasonability of price and contractor capabilities

  • Negotiate with supplier to ensure we have accurately underwritten pricing assumptions

  • Provide/support responses to client’s RFP questions where they relate to Sourcing & Procurement

  • Establish relationship with Corporate Legal & Risk to ensure all contractual terms are compliant

  • Ability to innovate new programs or processes that will benefit our Client and JLL in winning and solutioning new business for JLL

  • Ensure compliance with JLL’s sourcing and contracting policies, procedures, risk management programs, and ethics.

  • Ability to collaborate with counterparts and peers globally to develop uniform and succinct solutions for global clients.
     

Preferred

  • Strong project management skills, independent thinker, self-starter, ability to be strategic and tactical, problem-solver, excellent interpersonal skills, strong analytical ability, and proven ability to work in a team environment.

  • Excellent communication skills – oral and written.

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and/or 7-10 years of strategic sourcing or related experience; MBA preferred.

  • Project management and business transitions experience preferred.

  • Excellent PC skills, proficient in MS Office applications

Estimated compensation for this position:

140,000.00 – 180,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
