The Opportunity
Root is seeking a Procurement Manager who is a strategic and creative problem solver ready to roll up their sleeves and work with a variety of cross-functional stakeholders. In this role, you will support our business partners’ vendor relationships by driving consistency and optimization. This individual contributor should be a highly analytical and strategic advisor to the departments who will bring their procurement knowledge to our growing team. The perfect candidate will be comfortable working cross-functionally with business teams to guide and support our business partners throughout the procurement lifecycle.

Salary Range: $90,000 to $105,000 (Bonus and LTI Eligible)
How You Will Make an Impact

Partner with departments to evaluate current/future business requirements and utilize this information for planning, develop/execute on sourcing strategies, and other procurement/finance related activities .

Review and coordinate contract reviews/negotiations to ensure department and other stakeholder requirements are met. As well as ensure contracts are reviewed and approved by required departments such as legal and information security, per established processes.

Create and manage bids or requests for proposals incorporating stakeholder and department requirements.

Establish and maintain relationships with department and cross functional stakeholders, including departments such as legal, information security, finance, etc.

Develop and manage vendor performance scorecards.

Partner with the risk teams to ensure that the activities throughout the procurement lifecycle are aligned with third party risk management requirements and monitor significant vendor risk issues.

Evaluate supplier proposals (such as applying forecasting skills including cash/cost, pricing models) and make recommendations to department leaders/executives to support the needs of the departments and the cost reduction goals of the team.

Provide suggestions, create efficiencies and identify continuous improvement opportunities throughout the procurement lifecycle and processes.

Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Need to Succeed

Bachelor’s degree in finance, supply chain, and/or program management
-
5+ years demonstrated sourcing and/or category management experience, preferably in financial services and/or fast-paced technology environment.

Proven success in vendor management throughout the procurement lifecycle such as sourcing, contract review/negotiation, vendor performance management, payment, renewals, terminations etc.

Contract work in digital marketing is preferred

Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

Approaches problem solving with natural curiosity, open-mindedness, and comfort with ambiguity.

Thrives in a fast-paced work environment, prioritizing, and executing on the most critical project.
