Our Operations team is seeking a Sourcing Manager for FIJI Water who will be a key member of the FIJI® Water Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain group. The group’s mission is to drive profitable sales growth by driving down cost of goods and finding opportunities for efficiencies while leading strategic sourcing projects and continuous innovation of packaging applications. The position will drive strategic sourcing related projects mostly focusing on, but not limited to, packaging for FIJI® Water and Justin Vineyards and Winery. 

In this role, you will be responsible for flawless execution of sourcing strategies, cost savings initiatives, new vendor/product qualification and development, and vendor management. Reporting directly to the Sourcing Director, this is a great opportunity for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who is looking for high visibility and the chance to be a key member of dynamic department with impact all the supply chain processes.

This position will be based at our West Los Angeles, CA office and working a hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in the office. 

Job Description

  • Lead the water and wine sourcing team with 2 direct reports
  • Develop, grow and maintain network of qualified suppliers of all primary and secondary packaging materials (i.e. PET, HDPE, Glass, Corrugated, Flexible packaging, Labels, etc.)
  • Manage and oversee RFPs for all packaging sourcing related projects including but not limited to supply chain/logistics, professional services, capital projects
  • Assist in developing category sourcing strategy aligned with business needs
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and lead the Sourcing team to drive new product and packaging projects from concept to implementation
  • Responsible for meeting annual COGS targets by managing supplier contracts, spend and performance
  • Negotiate contracts and conduct financial analyses to achieve the optimum cost/value relationship
  • Understand and monitor key spending trends, cost drivers, market factors, geographic considerations, and strategic importance of critical commodities in order to implement appropriate sourcing strategies to maximize profitability and mitigate risk
  • Develop metrics, including external benchmarks, to monitor performance and allow for data-driven decision making
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and new packaging innovations/technology and recommend cost savings or value add opportunities
  • Work with operations, marketing, engineering and NPD teams to develop and maintain detailed specification documents for all packaging materials which include technical drawings, testing procedures, AQLs, shipping formats, current artwork
  • Travel is up to 15%, primarily in North America and some international

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of sourcing experience required, preferably in packaging
  • BS/BA in business, packaging engineering or related field
  • Knowledge in flexible and secondary packaging a plus
  • Knowledge of printing technology a plus
  • Strong leadership, relationship building and communication skills
  • Strong analytical thinking is required
  • Ability to present information in a clear and concise format to all levels of the organization
  • Excellent project management skills, especially in cross function team settings
  • High attention to detail is a must
  • High level of proficiency in Excel and Power Point

Pay Range: $100,000 - $135,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
