Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:

As the Sourcing Manager, you are responsible for implementing and executing the sourcing strategies. You partner with a team of highly qualified sourcing, quality, and raw materials professionals to achieve business objectives, collaborating across the Arc’teryx Headquarters and the Arc’teryx Hong Kong Sourcing Office. You will be working with a well-developed base of highly professional long term vendor partners, always looking for creative solutions and processes to improve speed, optimize cost, support margin, and best utilize supply chain capabilities and efficiencies.

The Hong Kong Liaison Office team is a cross functional group whose focus is on optimizing responsiveness to market with quality product, while driving towards cash flow and inventory targets.

We are a small but highly versatile team of problem solvers and process makers, driving collaborative partnership between Arc’teryx Headquarters, our vendors, and the Hong Kong Liaison Office team. We support the building and execution of a sustainable global sourcing strategy that enables us to deliver exceptional product at the right place, with the right quality and cost, and on-time.

If you were the Sourcing Manager for Arc'teryx Hong Kong Sourcing Office now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Supporting the Sourcing Management to drive partnership with our vendors to deliver a world class supply chain performance to support our business growth.
  • Leading and providing coaching to the sourcing specialists, building the core competencies and capabilities in the team to deliver on cost, quality and speed to market needs.
  • Support the sourcing management in negotiation and mitigation of production capacity issues,
  • Support the analysis and assessment of the vendor performance matrix to identify potential SDP risk and implement immediate mitigation actions.
  • Researching and assessing new vendors to support the business and capacity growth.
  • Support vendor development and relationship building with cross functional stakeholders.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new vendors and continuously building capabilities throughout the entire vendor base.
  • Providing support to the Sustainability team on compliance and ESG management
  • Analyze past and current CBD’s of COL styles, conduct cost comparisons across vendor base to identify improvement areas to support long term margin improvements.
  • Coordinating and executing SAP Vendor set-up and T1 Supply Agreement signature. 

Here are some of things you could be working on in the future:

  • Support ALO sourcing management to transform the current delivery KPI reporting to a more robust real time online dashboard, including refinement of the current delay reason codes.
  • Proposing a well-defined processes for seasonal purchase conditions setting prior to seasonal business allocations
  • Identify and propose more Footwear sourcing responsibilities for the ALO team
  • More involvement in capacity negotiation with T1 vendors
  • Work more in-depth with current and future vendor base to propose continuous improvements on vendor level for efficiency and cost improvements.
  • Building a talent pipeline and creating career development opportunities that inspire and challenge the team.

Are you our next Sourcing Manager for the Arc'teryx Hong Kong Sourcing Office?

  • You have a degree in Merchandising/Business Management or related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • You have 8+ years’ experience in apparel sourcing or merchandising in a global company.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills and can work effectively with internal and external stakeholders of diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • You have a strong knowledge of supply chain and logistics.
  • You have proven performance history with domestic and offshore vendors and manufacturers.
  • You have extensive knowledge of raw materials, technical construction and sourcing. Footwear experience is a plus.
  • You have expertise in negotiation, problem solving and multi-tasking.
  • You are assertive and have a high level of self-initiative.
  • You are fluent in English and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • You are proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Outlook, and knowledge of ERP & PLM systems is an advantage (e.g., SAP, Centric etc.)
